Finnish Meat Axe Restoration

A large historic meat axe from a local hunting club found its way onto the workshop bench this week.

The goal was not to make it look new, but to preserve its story. The original handle was saved, old repairs were documented, and the head revealed traces of traditional forge-welded construction hidden beneath rust and paint.

Ready for many more decades on the wall of the hunting lodge... and, if ever needed, ready for work once again.
